Legend has it that slaves got revenge on their cruel masters by pushing the boats they used over the waterfalls, hence the name Tinuy-an Falls (or Tinuyu-an; a native vernacular which means “intentional act to achieve an objective”). This multi-tiered waterfall is touted to be the “Little Niagara of the Philippines”, and said to be the widest in the Philippines at 95 meters wide, and 55 meters high.

Location: Barangay Borboanan, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
